Design, Research, Application, Art, Science
Research: A process of experiment, analysis in a particular field & in-depth study and investigation of it.Plus how to communicate with others.
Design: Problem solving with target users, deliver a message to others - form of communication
Application: Similar with design but with more layers and various dimension such as online or interactive, games etc. Help user to simplify some manual tasks, offer a particular benefit to the users
Art: Expression of interest, emotions
Science: Understand the mechanism of universe & our natural world
My question is:
- What is the relationship of Art & Science?
- What is the relationship of Art, Application and Design?
- What is the relationship of Art & Research then?
Research, Design and Art are all three different discipline. Art not necessarily get involved with all the audience as it involves a lot of subjective element. Design, yes a more mass communication and application, therefore you see from elsewhere as decoration, interactive guidance in museum. Design with a purpose and address on particular type of users, easy to accept by audience.
Trans-disciplinary is a genra which cross over with various topics such as humanity, art, culture, technology etc. Where artwork now is also reflecting the different parameters from cross fields.
Stage 1: Research -> Stage 2: Commercial Innovation -> Stage 3: Launch to market -> Stage 4: Users acceptance
Stage 1 - 4 may already incurs number of years time. Therefore I heard some people working on research when they read some references & books, basically the professor got this idea for years and things already got changed or enhanced. It takes time for acceptance. Therefore there is a need for academic conference and seminar...
From stage 1 research to publishing -> there is already a huge difference on the process.
